The GlobalRice Science Partnership (GRiSP) is an initiative of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), and was launched in November 2010. Its aim is to develop a research plan on rice.

Participating in the GRiSP Africa Science Forum in Cotonou in September 2011, Eric Scopel, aCirad researcher based in Madagascar, presented his research on upland ricealong with colleagues from FOFIFA and Antananarivo University. In this video interview given to Africa Rice, he explains why it is important for Madagascar-based research teams to take part in the Global Rice Science Partnership.
