Why use the BIP (or PBI in French)?

Aware of these problems, the consumers expect cultural practices more respectful of environment and of their health. The BIP (or PBI) has been developed as an answer to that demand and to reinforce the efficiency of existing methods. It tends towards mechanisms borrowed from nature : the regulation of pests by their own natural enemies.

In summary, the BIOP (or PBI) process aims to:

• Reduce the use of pesticides and thus less residues in plants
• Avoid creating rsistance phenomena in harmful organisms
• Control pests while respecting environment
• Diminish the health risks for the sprayer-man as well as for the consumer

Furthermore, the increase in value of the BIP (or PBI) process, respectful of the environment and its participants, present major stakes in terms of tracability, security and quality of the products :

• For the producer because it ensures a tracability and a control of the quality of his production and of the crop from the planting to he harvest stage.
• For the consumer by bringing security with respect to the reduction of the number of pesticide applications and to the quantity of residues in the product bought.
