Heritage and relationships which must be protected

Written by Dominique Virassamy-Macé Modified on the

Beyond its utilitarian aspect, biodiversity is also a set of relationships between species and an environment, and between the environments themselves. As a result, biodiversity is the first systemin the world encompassing all living organisms, thus maintaining global biological diversity.
One of these relationships is the relationship between man and nature. This relationship is political, agricultural, cultural, touristic and economic. The preservation of nature is therefore not only limited to the conservation of endangered species. Close links should be forged between the people and their environment, to establish real sustainable bonds.
In development projects, biodiversity should not be seen as a constraint but a natural infrastructure essential to preserving a heritage for the well-being of future generations.
