  • Lysis technique : clone specificity by “bacteriophages”, there is a specificity in the way “bacteriophages” react to bacterial species (specificity of the receptor of the “phage” against those of the cell)
  • Plasmid profiling
  • Analysis of the composition of fatty acids : fatty acids constitute a class of compounds containing a long chain of hydrocarbons with a terminal carboxylic group. They are contained in the phospholipid part of the cellular membrane and in the LPS (lipopolysaccharide part of the cellular lining). Characterization of the bacterial isolate is done by the fatty acid profiling using gaseous chromatography. Then comparisons are done through a database of fatty acids present in different taxons.
